Privacy Policy

Alaska Daylight is a free reference site for sunrise, sunset, and daylight times in Alaska. This policy explains what information is collected when you use it. Last updated October 2026.

Information we collect

Very little. The site asks for nothing to use it: no account, no name, no email address, no location access. The town and date you look up are processed in your browser or used to load a pre-computed page; we do not build profiles of individual visitors.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how the site is used in aggregate — which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are, and what kinds of devices they use. Google Analytics loads on every page and sets cookies (such as _ga) that let it tell one visitor from another across visits. We see only aggregate reports; Analytics does not give us anything that identifies you personally, and we do not combine Analytics data with any personal identity.

Cookies

The site itself sets no cookies of its own; the cookies on this site come from Google Analytics, described above. When advertising is enabled through Google AdSense, Google and its advertising partners may also use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.

Server logs

Like virtually every website, our hosting provider records standard web-server log entries (requested page, time, browser type, and approximate location derived from IP address) for security and operations. We do not combine log data with any personal identity.

Children's privacy

This site contains no user accounts, comments, or messaging, and is suitable for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
